noise annoys

yelling should be reserved for
-1) signifying danger (but only when the potentially dangerous outcome can be averted by the yelling)
-2) sporting events
-3) cheering after live performances (musical or otherwise)
-4) any other time you feel like it if and only if nobody else can hear you

honking should be reserved for
-1) signifying danger
-2) letting someone know that they have been idling too long in front of you at a red light

p.s. i think i need to get out of the city

the craziness

things that happened all very recently:

a house was on fire, but the fire department had not yet arrived and there was nobody around.

the train i was riding lit on fire. we all had to get off.

a woman slipped on ice and wouldn't move from the pavement. we eventually got her inside. she wouldn't tell us who she was or answer any other questions, even though she was communicating with us about other things. i think she was on drugs. we called an ambulance, and i stayed on the floor with her until they came.

my wallet was stolen, and i think i knew who did it, but i can't figure out what to do about it. it is very complicated.

my ex-boyfriend contacted me out of the blue. we were making small talk, and then he suddenly asked me whether my sex life was good. i told him i did not feel comfortable with that conversation, and he told me that i should at least masturbate. i ended our conversation, and now i feel violated.
